Dawn Miller named CCO of Lloyd’s and CEO of Americas

Dawn Miller has been appointed Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of Lloyd’s and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Lloyd’s Americas. Marc Lipman has been appointed President of Lloyd’s Americas taking over the role from Hank Watkins, who will be leaving Lloyd’s at the end of the year.

In her expanded role as Chief Commercial Officer, Miller will continue to lead the Commercial directorate, retaining accountability for Lloyd’s Global Network. She will remain a member of Lloyd’s Executive Committee.

As CEO of Lloyd’s Americas, the executive will be responsible for fostering key relationships and driving strategic and sustainable growth in the region – alongside building greater alignment with Bermuda.

Miller will be based in New York and take over her new duties with effect from September 1, 2024.

She commented: “As we look at how our commercial strategy can support the market’s profitable growth over the next two years, these changes to the way we’re structured in the Americas allow us to broaden the scope of our offering.

“We will be able to provide greater support to our large network of stakeholders and market participants based on the region and drive forward our global distribution strategy.”

Current Regional Director & President of Lloyd’s Americas Watkins will be leaving Lloyd’s after 15 years working in there/insurance marketplace.

Through his time at Lloyd’s Watkins has been” instrumental in helping customers and stakeholders in the region navigate new risks and solutions,” a spokesperson stated.

Lipman has been appointed President of Lloyd’s Americas. He will be based in Canada, and will take over the role from September 1.

The executive joined Lloyd’s as the Attorney in Fact and President of Lloyd’s Canada in June 2020 and under his leadership, Lloyd’s Canadian business has been reinforced with a strong governance foundation, including a robust risk framework and the implementation of IFRS 17.
