Briggs promoted to VP Strategic Innovation & Emerging Markets, AMG Actuary, The Standard

Julie Briggs has been promoted to the role of vice president of Strategic Innovation and Emerging Markets and Asset Management Group Actuary, at Standard Insurance Company (The Standard).

In her new role, she is expected to be responsible for the leadership of all AMG actuarial and finance functions.

She will also work closely with The Standard’s corporate partners, in order to balance growth, risk and the increasing contributions of AMG to the company.

She joined the organisation in 2005, and has gone on to serve in actuarial positions in Retirement Plans working with defined benefits and product and risk management.

In addition, she also previously held a leadership role on the firm’s Corporate Actuarial team.

Most recently, she served as assistant vice president of Retirement Plans Actuarial and Finance.

Before she joined The Standard, Briggs spent nearly seven years working at Towers Perrin and Mercer (now known as WTW) in benefits plan consulting.

“Julie is highly regarded across the organization for her deep expertise and strong network of relationships. Her ability to get things done in a collaborative way makes her ideally suited for her new role,” commented A.J. Ijaz, vice president of Asset Management Group at The Standard.
